Trans: The Prefix That Broke Reality
According to Merriam-Webster, “trans” is a simple prefix meaning “on or to the other side of,” “across,” or “beyond.” So when someone proudly declares themselves a “trans woman,” they are, by their own etymological logic, announcing that they are on the other side of woman. Which is… what, exactly? A man? A confused man? A man who spent six years on Reddit and decided biology was a suggestion? No wonder they’re all so perpetually confused. The prefix literally tells you they’re not the thing. They’re the “beyond” version. Like how trans fats are the toxic knockoff of actual fats that clog your arteries and make you die faster. Same energy.
It’s peak comedy watching grown adults treat a Latin prefix like a magic spell. “I identify as trans!” Cool story, bro. By that standard I identify as trans-rich. I’m on the other side of having money. Where’s my yacht? Oh right, prefixes don’t override bank accounts any more than they override chromosomes. But sure, let’s all pretend “trans woman” is just a fun new flavor of woman, like calling a vegan burger “trans beef.” Tastes like despair and lies, costs twice as much, and leaves everyone involved slightly ashamed.
The mental gymnastics required are Olympic level. They scream “trans women are women” while the dictionary quietly whispers, “Actually, it means across from woman, you absolute walnut.” It’s like demanding we call a ferret a “trans dog” and then acting shocked when the real dogs don’t want to share the kibble. Or the fire hydrant. Or basic respect. Transgender? Across from gender? The antonym of "gender" can be considered as "agender" or "genderless," representing the absence of gender identity or characteristics. Transvestite if the best fit: a person who wears clothes designed for the opposite sex.
At this point the whole movement feels like a dictionary having a stroke. We’ve reached the stage where words mean the opposite of what they say, men are winning women’s sports by “crossing over,” and anyone pointing out the prefix is a bigot. Brilliant. Nothing says “progress” like turning basic etymology into hate speech. Trans Woman must be Trans Man and vice versa. It’s Wannabe, not Trans. And if a Trans Woman is a woman why is he called Trans? You didn’t see this one coming.
An entire movement was built on a grammatical error. Next they’ll tell us “cis” means “on this side of sane.” At least that one would finally be accurate. Take it from a B in LGB!
